The bedtime prayer

This is the prayer my mother taught me to say before going to sleep. The last two lines are different from the more common version. I wasn't even aware of the more common version until late in grade school, or possibly not even until high school.

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
And when I wake another day,
I pray the Lord to guide my way.
